The Western Chester County Council of Goverments (COG) is helping to send
the next generation of leaders to college. The Youth Advocacy Scholarship is
awarded to exceptional students with the desire to lead, serve, and have a
positive impact on their communities.
WCCCOG will offer a $2500 scholarship to local students that:
1. Reside in the COG’s service area: Atglen, Caln, Coatesville, East Brandywine, East Fallowfield, East Nantmeal, Honey Brook Township and Honey Brook Borough, Modena, Parkesburg, Sadsbury, South Coatesville, Valley, Wallace, West Brandywine, West Caln, West Fallowfield, West Nantmeal, and West Sadsbury
2. Meets all of the scholarship criteria defined by the council; Demonstrates the attributes of leadership, integrity, drive, and citizenship within their communities and schools. Have proficient academic performance and active participation in school government or pursuit of a two year degree or four year degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or Urban Planning.

Recipient(s) of the WCCCOG scholarship must meet the following criteria:
Be a senior student in good standing in his/her high school. Demonstrate proficient academic achievement (3.0 or higher cumulative GPA). Demonstrate involvement in school government AND/OR be accepted at a university or community college in pursuit of a degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or Urban Planning. Provide a recommendation by an administrator, teacher, or coach or other personal reference. Submit a 500 word essay exploring their own interest in local government, public administration, political science, or urban planning.
